Rachel Therrien, locally based French-Canadian trumpeter, bandleader, composer, and member of the DIVA Jazz Orchestra, and her Latin Quartet will perform her original compositions as well as standards at Erv’s from 8-10 pm Wednesday, Sept 19.
Therrien is a winner of the 2015 TD Grand Prize Jazz Award at the Montreal International Jazz Festival and the 2016 Stingray Jazz Rising Star Award, where she presented her second album, Home Inspiration, “an emotionally charged show filled [with] improv and exceptional musical orchestration” -FIJM. Therrien recently launched “Pensamiento,” her Afro-Colombian-inspired album recorded with 12 musicians in Bogota, Colombia, and she’s starting the production of a third album with her Montreal Quintet.
