Slightly out of step with time, haunted by the echoes of decades past, rolling in with the fog from the harbor, there is something quite Southern Brooklyn about Myrna. There is a carefree naiveté in their music, unconcerned with the anarchic present-day broadcasts that weigh us down. Myrna plays like handball in the streets or friends faking jazz music together. Myrna is lost in the dream, refusing to wake out of a world where everyone you ever knew and loved is sharing a large, mid-day meal together. In this world, Myrna’s melodic, pop-based outings could be thought of as an error, but we are fortunate to stand in their garden, feet firmly on the ground. Luke Allen – vocals, guitar, keys, drum programming; Matt Lindauer – vocals, guitar; Jon Carrelli – bass.
