Melissa Buzzeo is the author of four full-length books: The Devastation (2015 Nightboat), For Want and Sound (2013 Les Figues), Face (2009 BookThug) and What Began Us (2007 Leon Works). She teaches creative writing at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and maintains a radical palm reading practice. Currently she is working on a specific kind of memoir simply called Writing.
Daniel José Older is the author of the “Bone Street Rumba” urban fantasy series from Penguin’s Roc Books and the young-adult novel Shadowshaper (Scholastic’s Arthur A. Levine Books, 2015). Publishers Weekly hailed him as a “rising star of the genre” after the publication of his debut ghost noir collection, Salsa Nocturna. He co-edited the anthology “Long Hidden: Speculative Fiction from the Margins of History. ” His short stories and essays have appeared in The Guardian, NPR, Tor.com, Salon, BuzzFeed, Fireside Fiction, New Haven Review, PANK, Apex and Strange Horizons and the anthologies Subversion and Mothership: Tales Of Afrofuturism And Beyond.
