Join the fun at the Crown Heights branch of the Brooklyn Public Library, 560 New York Avenue at Maple Street. It’s FREE and for ALL AGES.
Michael Winograd, Ilya Shneyveys, and Cantor Sarah Meyerson are three of the most celebrated performers of Jewish music in Brooklyn. Collectively they have played many of today’s smallest, medium-size and largest music venues in New York and around the world.
Klezmer—Jewish celebration music originally from Eastern Europe—became very popular in New York City in the early 20th Century. Michael, Ilya, and Sarah will play this fun party music, demonstrate the dances and even teach some songs. Appropriate for all ages!! Everyone loves Klezmer!
