PAINTINGS by AMELIA CALSI
THUR MARCH 13th 6–9PM
Please join us for the reception for a show of paintings by AMELIA CALSI, the March show for PLG Arts Tugboat Local Artists series. It will be at the Tugboat Tea Company, 546 Flatbush Avenue, between Lincoln Road and Beekman Place.
“I grew up in the forest. It’s a strange place, the forest. I once watched a snake eat a frog. It took a very long time, and the frog never stopped croaking. It was pretty horrifying. I would go for long walks and look for treasure. I found skeletons. Mostly deer skeletons, the whole thing intact and their necks would be thrown back, like they were looking over their shoulder, hoping for one last glimpse of eternity. I found some pretty interesting stones too, but I can’t remember where I put them.
Now I live in the city, and I paint.”
The reception for this show will be on
Thursday, March 13th, from 6–9 PM.
Please join us, if you can. If you can’t make the reception, or just want a great cup of tea or coffee, Tugboat’s hours are Mon–Fri, 7 am–7 pm and Sat–Sun. 8 am–6 pm.
