Each razor-sharp songwriters in their own rights, Jean Rohe and Liam Robinson formed their duo Robinson & Rohe five years ago, after nearly a decade of collaboration, as a home for their original songs rooted in American folk tradition. With their debut record, “Hunger,” they push past historical nostalgia to pose open-eyed questions about the traditions we inherit and where we might find hope in a country freighted with an inheritance that is both beautiful and troubling. Their detailed arrangements and telepathic vocal harmonies feel as vast and rich as the American landscapes they sing about. Tonight they share new songs written over the past year with the help from some friends and special guests.
