With author Darcey Steinke
Featuring Doug Martin and Rebecca Godfrey
Wine reception to follow
Twenty-five years after its initial publication, Darcey Steinke’s sensational Suicide Blonde has lost none of its raw charge. Steinke’s startling and sensuous cult classic has gone on to influence a generation of writers. On the occasion of Suicide Blonde’s 25th Anniversary and the new edition with an introduction by Maggie Nelson published by Grove Press, Greenlight brings together Steinke (our PLG neighbor) and fellow authors for a reading in celebration of the anti-heroine. Poet, novelist, and critic Doug Martin reads from his forthcoming biography of iconoclastic writer Kathy Acker; author Rebecca Godfrey reads from her work in progress about bohemian socialite Peggy Guggenheim, and Steinke reads from Suicide Blonde, followed by a Q&A and a wine reception to celebrate the occasion.
