Presented by the Brooklyn Book Festival * An Official Bookend Event
Raina Telgemeier has made an art form of her bestselling graphic memoirs, from orthodontic adventures in Smile (2010) to sibling tensions in Sisters (2014). This fall, she paves new ground, sharing her childhood struggle with anxiety in a new book: Guts! Set in her elementary school years, Guts opens as young Raina wakes up one night with a terrible upset stomach. It soon becomes clear that Raina’s tummy trouble isn’t going away…and it coincides with her worries about food, school, and changing friendships. What’s going on? Raina once again brings us a thoughtful, charming, and funny true story about growing up and gathering the courage to face–and conquer–her fears.

At this exclusive all-ages Brooklyn event for Guts, presented by the Brooklyn Book Festival as an official Bookend event, Raina discusses her book onstage with fellow cartoonist Jerry Craft, author of the acclaimed graphic novel New Kid. Attendees will have the chance to have their photo taken with Raina too!

All tickets include a pre-signed copy of Guts, to be distributed at the venue. A portion of ticket proceeds benefits the Brooklyn Book Festival. Additional books by Raina Telgemeier and Jerry Craft will be for sale at the event.

Location – BRIC
647 Fulton Street, Brooklyn, NY 11217
