I grew up in the forest. It’s a strange place, the forest. I once watched a snake eat a frog. It took a very long time, and the frog never stopped croaking. It was pretty horrifying. I would go for long walks and look for treasure. I found skeletons. Mostly deer skeletons, the whole thing intact and their necks would be thrown back, like they were looking over their shoulder, hoping for one last glimpse of eternity. I found some pretty interesting stones too, but I can’t remember where I put them.

Now I live in the city, and I paint
