Called “an American Robyn Hitchcock” by The Big Takeover, Life in a Blender has been the canvas for singer and songwriter Don Rauf’s blackly comic landscapes for more than three decades. The group has released nine albums ranging from screaming punk to orchestrated chamber pop, and has brought the theatrics of its live act to stages from Berlin to Austin to Toronto to Brooklyn and Seattle. The band’s latest album Happy Enough is out on Fang Records, and features the twisted clarinet of old friend Ralph Carney, who we miss like crazy. Jersey Beat called Happy Enough “an utterly engaging blend of joy and verve while the dynamic and harmonic arrangements keep things lively and stirring from start to finish.”
