Adam Sternbergh presents The Blinds in conversation with A. O. Scott

Adam Sternbergh follows up the Edgar Award-nominated novel Shovel Ready with a blistering 21st Century Western, equal parts Cormac McCarthy and Coen Brothers. This modern speculative thriller brings us to an isolated compound in Texas populated by criminals — people plucked from their lives, with their memories altered, who’ve been granted new identities and a second chance. This is the Blinds, a dusty town in rural Texas populated by outsiders who don’t know if they’ve perpetrated a crime or just witnessed one. What’s clear to them is that if they leave, they will end up dead. Dennis Lehane calls The Blinds “a propulsive and meaningful meditation on redemption and loss.” Sternbergh presents his latest novel in conversation with New York Times film critic and Greenlight neighbor A.O. Scott, with a signing and Q&A.
